Why and how do we collect personal information?

 

In order for the Aboriginal Art Association of Australia to contact you and review your application for membership, we will collect only the information we need to assess your application fully.

 

We have two options available for contacting us through the website: 

 

  1. Email via the website contact us forms, or

  2. Following submission of an application for membership.

 

When you contact the Association through the Aboriginal Art Association of Australia contact us forms, as part of the process, we ask you to enter limited personal information to enable us to contact you via your preferred method - phone or email and a small summary of your needs to ensure we can best assist you with your enquiry.  This information is stored in the secure Wix.com database and on our Office 365 email server.

 

The contact us page does not require you to enter any details via this website and contact details are provided to allow you to contact us directly via your email, LinkedIn, mobile or social media accounts. Each of these platforms has its own method of collating data which you would have agreed to when signing up for an account with those providers. 

 

Our website includes details of our Supporter and Artist members which are displayed with consent from the applicants, the information displayed includes the name and state or country. In respect to Trade Members, the details of the business are displayed for the purposes of allowing members of the public or the industry to find reputable organisations with which they can connect for business purposes or the procurement of art. This information is obtained and published with the consent of the individuals and organisations concerned. Information can be removed at any time on request and will be removed from the website on termination of membership.

 

We will never sell your personal information to any third party. 

 

Our website may provide links to other websites. We have do not control and are not responsible for, the content or practices of those websites. By providing the links we are not endorsing those websites, their content, owners or practices. Each website will have its own privacy policies to which they adhere.​

 

What type of information do we collect?

 

The Aboriginal Art Association of Australia receives, collects and stores any information you enter on our website or provide to us in any other way purely for the purposes of client communication and to assist in the provision of our services. The type of personally identifiable information we collate includes name, email, telephone numbers, email communications, comments, feedback, business information, experience, declarations and personal profile details you provide. These are stored in our website database to assist in membership applications. 

 

We also collect information through the use of cookies which generate information about your use of our website and includes the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet. This information is non-personal to ensure individuals cannot be identified. The data allows us to analyse the performance of our website and how our customers use it providing the tools we need to determine areas for improvement. This information is collated and stored in Google Analytics.

 

How do we use cookies and other tracking tools?

We use Google Analytics to help us to count the number of visits to our website and analyse how visitors use our website. Google analytics measures and collects session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse to and away from the page. This information is generated through cookies and transmitted to and stored by Google on their servers. Google may transfer this information to third parties when required by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google undertakes not to associate IP addresses with any other data held by Google.

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

 

  1. To provide and operate our membership services;

  2. To provide our members with ongoing customer assistance and support;

  3. To be able to contact our members and subscribers with general or personalised service-related notices and event notices;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we may use to provide and improve our services; 

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

How do we store, use, share and disclose your personal information?

 

Should any payments be made via our website, all direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express

The Aboriginal Art Association is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform that allows us to provide information about our services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. Should the Association elect to add online payments for membership applications in the future Wix.com meets the PCI-DSS requirements that help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by the Aboriginal Art Association and its financial service providers.

How do we communicate with you?

 

We may contact you to notify you regarding your membership, to troubleshoot issues with your membership, enquiries from the general public on industry matters affecting your business, for feedback in relation to government or industry consultations, newsletters and Board briefings to keep you abreast of Association news, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you regarding the Association's code of ethics and breaches of membership conditions. For these purposes, we may contact you via email, telephone, text message or postal mail.

 

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it. 

 

How can you withdraw your consent?

 

If you would like to: access, correct, amend or delete any personal information we have about you, you are invited to contact us at mail@aboriginalart.org,au and we will process your request forthwith.
