President’s News

Dear Members

Firstly I would like to thank my fellow board members and all members for the opportunity to represent our Industry as the new Aboriginal Art Association President. I would also like to thank our previous board members who have, through years of service, established our association and worked tirelessly to ensure our position as the peak body for Indigenous Art in Australia. We have come a long way in the last few years alone and we intend to achieve much more, we have successfully implemented our new identity/brand/website, Newsletter, conducted an informative members survey, finalised an articulate and relevant Constitution and evolved from a trade association to a relevant and effective industry body.

Moving forward we will require all members with experience in certain areas contributing whereby they offer the most benefit whilst spreading the workload across our association. This is imperative for the AAAA to continue our current momentum.

Among other matters our challenges include funding, aboriginal representation, membership and the continuation of building our brand. Our recent survey determined our members want to hear more about Member’s industry experiences and be offered more networking, social and educational experiences. Due to our membership expansion and broad geographic location of members we need consider the rotation of events including our AGM and enhance communication to all members. I look forward to working with you all on these tasks and others that arise over the next 12 months.

Warm regards,
Adam Knight
